To make move-in days smooth and efficient, we’ve emailed you your assigned move-in time. If you miss it, you’ll be asked to come back at a later time or date. To request a different time slot, contact leasing@ottostudentliving.com.

You can pay online through the resident portal using a debit card, credit card or electronic checking transfer, or by automatic recurring charge to your debit card, credit card or
bank account.


How much do I owe?

This can vary depending on your qualification method. Check your Move-In Checklist on your Resident Portal to see your current ledger and make a payment!

Note: There could be additional payments needed once we’ve added floor premiums and bedroom premiums. Placements have not been finalized so this can vary by resident.


Schedule

We will be splitting move-in day into TWO days to ensure everyone has a wonderful experience while they pick up the keys to their new home. Move-in days will be assigned based on your floor to keep the flow of traffic moving and seamless.

We will be offering move-in assistance by Aggieland Moving and Sweeps Moving Company. Boxes/dollies will be used as assistance in moving you in.

Aggieland/Sweeps will remove items from your vehicle and transport them to your apartment.
The boxes used for transport are 49L x 20W x 24H and you are allotted 4 boxes per resident.

We will have FIVE Golden Rules that we’re asking all residents to follow:


1. ONE car per Resident through the move-in line at your designated time.

Prioritize your “must-haves” for 8/17 & 8/18. We recommend even packing a suitcase that has your necessities to sleep comfortably the first couple of nights you’re here while you and others get moved in.

No moving trucks or larger vehicles. Any additional vehicles will be asked to move their items in after move-in day has concluded. Sorry!


2. We kindly request that only items easily carried within your arms be brought through the move-in line.

This ensures efficiency and smooth operations during office check-in.

We won’t be allowing wagons, large suitcases, dollies, boxes, or other larger items through the move-in line.

Backpacks, purses, overnight bags are accepted.


3. Avoid getting groceries or food deliveries while move-in is happening on 8/17 & 8/18.

The line could get long and we don’t want your food to spoil! Alternatively, food deliveries to the property during move-in can cause move-in day to not flow efficiently.


4. Please plan to avoid running errands while we are assisting residents with their move-in!

Traffic will be backed up, the garage will have traffic, and overall not the best time to buy decorations for your apartment or run errands. Trust us.


5. Place all of your moving items into boxes or utilize Storage Bags as it will make moving in much smoother.

Loose and unpacked items are more likely to get lost. By packing all of your items into boxes/bags, this will help prevent lost items during the move-in assistance process.

You’ll want to register your tag HERE before move-in for garage access!


How tall is the parking garage at Otto?

Our parking garage height is 8’2ft on the first floor. There are a limited number of spaces on the 1st floor which have already been reserved. The remainder of the garage is 7’9ft.

Utilities are automatically set up at move-in! We use Entrata Utilities for our utility management.

Utilities are automatically split up amongst roommates and applied to your ledger so everyone pays the same! There is a 1-time fee due 8/1/24 to have the utilities set up in your name. This $72 fee is shown on your Move-In Checklist ledger.


When will I receive my first utility bill?

You’ll receive your first utility bill in October along with that month’s rent! Utilities are delayed one month due to the city’s reporting.


Should I bring a router for internet?

No need for a router! Actually, a router in your unit can cause WIFI issues, so avoid bringing one of those. Internet is already included in your rental payment! Our WIFI is through WireStar. Our speeds are at least 940 Mbps downstream by 940 Mbps upstream – super fast! There are also ethernet ports throughout your apartment.

Go to your Resident Portal and register online. From here, you’ll want to make sure you can answer yes to each of the questions below:

All floor premiums, parking, and move-in fees are coming soon.


3. Secure your 3rd Party Renter’s Insurance (optional)

Otherwise, everyone is automatically enrolled into Cardinal Protect Liability!


4. Pet photo/records (if applicable and approved by management)


5. All documents signed by all parties

This includes guarantor signatures, so double-check with them!


6. Contact information updated

Phone number & email address.


7. Vehicle information (if applicable)

If you’re still in need of parking at Otto, we have limited spaces available so reach out ASAP to parking@ottostudentliving.com for more information.


8. Set up recurring rent payments with ACH payments

This will allow you to save time each month paying rent for only $1.95 rather than debit/credit card fees.


9. Ensure you’ve opted into our texting platform

If you’re unsure whether you’re opted in or not, simply text “START” to (979) 266-0453

ANYONE WHO COMPLETES ALL THE ABOVE ITEMS BY AUGUST 1, 2024 WILL BE ENTERED TO WIN A TEXAS A&M YETI COOLER!

RENTER'S INSURANCE

Let’s check coverage off your list! As a resident you will automatically be enrolled in Cardinal Protect upon signing your lease unless you opt out. This ensures you meet the $100,000 property liability coverage requirement in your lease.

Cardinal Protect benefits include hassle free compliance (satisfies your lease requirements), Affordable! (low monthly payments via your apartment charges), and Simplified Claims ($0 deductible, no increase in Program costs).


Cardinal Protect covers certain property damage you accidentally cause: fire, accidental smoke, explosion, water damage and other liquid overflows/leaks.

If you do not wish to participate in Cardinal Protect, you must provide:


Minimum of $100,000 in Liability Coverage


Resident’s Insurance Address – be sure to include unit number and bed letter!


OTTO MUST be included as an Additional Interest/Interested Party and the address for Notification of Changes to your policy must appear as follows:

FAQS

Absolutely! We’ve compiled a complete document filled with each floor plan’s unit dimensions. Check out your floor plan in THIS document! We apologize in advance if it’s a bit confusing to read, but hope it’s helpful for you!

As a resident of OTTO, you have the option to ship your belongings to your apartment with Ship Schools. Ship Schools is a Cardinal program that will pick up your stuff at home and ship it to OTTO so you can travel without the hassle. Your belongings can be packed in boxes or suitcases, and you can also ship sports equipment like skis or golf clubs.

When you sign up online, you can designate your pick-up address and the shipping labels will be printed and delivered to your mailbox. You will also select a pickup date.

Your things will meet you after you get to Otto and move in!
